Give Roger a call and we will see what we can do to help you. Tripping breakers, smell of burning or sound of arcing inside your sockets dont hesitate just call. We can talk you through any immediate steps you can take and get ourselves over to you.  We strongly advise that you do not interfere with a faulty electrical installation, if an MCB or RCD switch has randomly tripped and there is no apparent issue with dry hands try re setting the MCB or RCD but if the switch won't latch and / or there is a crack or arcing sound it time to leave it well alone and get a professional in. If you have any doubts do not even attempt to re energise the breaker. In addition if you have obvious damage or problem such as scorched sockets or plug tops, damaged cables. Heat damage or cracked components and accessories give us a call immediately.

What is an Electrical Installation Condition Report

EICR's comprise an in depth survey of an existing electrical installation including de powering distribution boards and consumers units, opening up and inspection of distribution components and accessories, assessment and instrument testing of finals circuits and incoming supply and earthing perameters with a full written report and recomendations. It is simply an MOT for Electrics.
